Disposable Cameras / Cámaras Desechables
A central tool in our participatory methodology. Participants receive disposable cameras after an initial interview and are asked to photograph the tensions between how their life appears from the outside and how it is actually lived from within. The photos are then analyzed together in a return interview.
Why disposable? No smartphone metadata. Limited frames create intentionality. The ritual of developing film adds a reflective pause that digital photography eliminates. Every photograph is a decision — and that decision is data.
